How to get to the University of Mannheim

The whole city area of Mannheim is divided into blocks (Quadrate in German). Every Block is named with a letter and a number (e.g. L7) followed by the house number (L7, 7).

The university is a 10 minute walk from the main station: Leave the main station through the main entrance. Cross the tram lines and turn left (on the left you can see the InterCity Hotel). On the right of this building starts the Schlossgartenstraße. Follow this road for about 300m (to the end of the road). Here you will come across a cream-coloured house with blue window-frames (the Centre for European Economic Research: ZEW). Go straight on (on a footpath between the tramlines and the building) until you can see the Mannheim Baroque Palace. Most lecture rooms can be found here (see map). The Historical Institute, however, is not located in the main university building.
